I am a reseacher and work on soil erosion and contamination, wetland degradation and periglacial processes in semi-arid regions and within ice-free regions of Antarctica. Since a teenager my main hobby has been running and over the years I have participated in all types of road and mountain races. Twice I have participated in the Spartathlon and arrived as finisher in 2015. I completed a total of 10 ultra distance races from 100 to 275 km during 2015 and 2016. Apart froms the amazing Spartathlon, races include the Gran Trail Sierra de Peñalara, Ultra Trail Sierra Nevada, TDS in the Mount Blanc region in 2015 and the ultra tail Tabernas Desert, Milano Sanremo Ultra Marathon and the Ehunmilak ultra trail in 2016. This passion for running I share with a wonderful wife that fully supports me during these races.

Το Σπάρταθλο αναβιώνει τα βήματα του Φειδιππίδη, ενός αρχαίου Αθηναίου δρομέα μεγάλων αποστάσεων, ο οποίος το 490 π.Χ., πριν από τη μάχη του Μαραθώνα, εστάλη στη Σπάρτη να ζητήσει βοήθεια στον πόλεμο που διεξήγαγαν οι Έλληνες με τους Πέρσες.
Περιγράφεται ως ο πιο δύσκολος αγώνας δρόμου στον κόσμο, το Σπάρταθλον τρέχει πάνω από επαρχιακούς δρόμους και μονοπάτια, διασχίζει αμπελώνες και ελαιώνες, ανεβαίνει απότομες πλαγιές και η πιο προκλητική απ' όλες όταν κατευθύνει τους δρομείς με ανάβαση 1.200 μέτρων και κάθοδο του Παρθένιου Όρους μέσα στην βαθιά νύχτα...
